RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 446444

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:73.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/73.0

Steps to reproduce:

Firefox Sync can synchronize logins and passwords, add-ons and preferences between installations of Firefox web browser on different machines. Firefox Sync if FOSS and has client-side encryption. It can be used for free from Mozilla or one can run its own service.

Can Firefox Sync be used to do something similar for Thunderbird? If this is not feasible (for whatever reason), would it be possible to use an adaption of it for Thunderbird (which follows upstream improvements). There are several foundations which can help with funding such as MOSS, NLnet, etc.
