[Steps to reproduce]:

  1. Open https://mail.google.com and log in
  2. Click the Compose button and write some text in the mail body
  3. Try to delete the text starting from the end with Backspace

[Expected result]:
Characters are deleted as Backspace is pressed

[Actual result]:
Characters cannot be deleted using Backspace

[Note]
The issue is reproducible with dom.input_events.beforeinput.enabled=true OR false
