as we are releasing windows on arm (WoA), we should have some sanity test coverage for beta/release branches.

As our intention is to reduce the coverage we have on mozilla-central, lets enable that reduced coverage on beta/release.

I see that as:

  • mochitest-media
  • reftest
  • crashtest

this will add more load to our existing system, but will ensure we are not releasing 100% untested code.

when this is on mozilla-central we will need to request a beta uplift, although monday is merge day and we might have to wait a bit- it would be cool if it automatically gets to mozilla-beta and we just need to request an uplift to release (or let it go naturally)

Bug 1620204 - enable windows10-aarch64 reftests, crashtests, mochitest-media on beta/release

Beta/Release Uplift Approval Request

  • User impact if declined: potential risk of win/aarch64 not working (no different than current risk)
  • Is this code covered by automated tests?: Yes
  • Has the fix been verified in Nightly?: Yes
  • Needs manual test from QE?: No
  • If yes, steps to reproduce:
  • List of other uplifts needed: None
  • Risk to taking this patch: Low
  • Why is the change risky/not risky? (and alternatives if risky): we have been releasing windows/aarch64 builds for 6+ months without coverage except on mozilla-central. This reduces our risk by running tests from m-c on m-b. The potential risk here is some tests fail to run on m-b due to config/build differences.
  • String changes made/needed:
