If you start Mozilla Mail with activated preview-window and you click on a mail
which is longer than the preview-window, the preview-window overlaps the
status-line.
As far as I understand this bug. The bug only shows up if the following
conditions where keept:
1. When Mozilla Mail was started the preview window was already activated
2. You make a preview on an inbox mail or an a mail in your sent directory. The
bug doesn´t seem to appear with drafts.
3. The mail, you make a preview on, must be longer than the preview window, so
that scrollbars appear.
To reproduce the bug, do the following:
1. Open Mozilla Mail and open the preview window.
2. Close mail so that on the next start the preview window is activated
3. Start Mozilla Mail and click on a mail which is longer than the preview window.
If the bug has shown and you minimize the preview window and reopen it again
everything is fine. It seems to me that when the preview window ist opened from
the beginning on there is something missing for calculating the proper height of
the preview window. If you concern, that the bug can only be reproduced with
mails that are longer than the preview window, it is also possible that the bug
is a problem with calculating the height of the scrollbars.
Regards,
Thomas

Added a screenshot of the mail window when the status line was overlapped.

It could be that this bug is the same than the one described in bug 156478,
where the same behaviour is described when resizing the mail window. But because
I wasn´t able to reproduce the behaviour described in bug 156478 I opend this
new bug.
Regards,
Thomas
i see this on linux too. The statusbar is gradually overpainted as i drag
separator downwards. Once the sepratarot is ALL the way down, the statusbar
"snaps" back into place and remains there for the rest of the session.
(Regardless of how i resize it afterwards.) A new startup of mailnews and i can
repro the bug again.
It seems the vertical scrollbar to the right "Locks up" at a certain height, and
doesn't want to become smaller.
Similar: bug 41994. I think this in pratical terms is a duplicate of bug 156478.

I see this too (on Linux), but only, if the header is expanded (as on the
screenshot..) - dup it?
