User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.13; rv:73.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/73.0

Steps to reproduce:

Allowed Thunderbird to update itself when it asked, on 23 MAR 2020.

  • Mac OS 10.13.6
  • 2013 15-inch MacbookPro (retina)
  • Nil system changes or updates anytime recently
  • Thunderbird was working perfectly before it self-updated

Actual results:

  • Application relaunched.

  • Empty application window

  • Has toolbar buttons but panes are not populated with anything

  • No folders in left pane

  • No messages in main (right) two panes

  • Cannot see or get to any of my email

  • I have attached a screenshot

Expected results:

Rather hoped the application should still have been working properly

My interim fix will probably be to install another email client and hopefully successfully migrate existing email/data to it, if the buggy Thunderbird update hasn't destroyed the data.

Chris,
Were you coming from version 60 at that time?
Do you still have the Thunderbird profile?

Query for Chris : In 'profile name' folder that does not work, how many 'prefs.js' files do you see ? Additional ones may have numbers appended.
