It shows on some other browsers, like netscape 4.7x. I did some experiments on the page, and found the following: If the length of the HTML comment saying CONTENT ARE TABLE on line 362 is shortened to less than 80, content will show. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Click on the link above 2.Download page source 3.Edit line 362(remove couple of slashes) 4.View edited page and compare to original
page uses strict compliance mode, bad comments style. Propose to resolve as INVALID or Tech Evangelism.
the page, with <!DOCTYPE html SYSTEM "http://www.ibm.com/data/dtd/v11/ibmxhtml1-transitional.dtd"> is rendered in "Standards compliance mode," but the comment code is formatted incorrectly: the closing comment dilimiter must have even number of '-'. If you remove one '-' before the '>', then the content will show fine. If you get rid of the DOCTYPE line, the content will also show. a Tech Evangelism bug?

I dont see this problem today. page appears same as in ie6 and i didn't see -- embedded in <!-- --> anywhere. -> fixed.

I am still seeing a problem with Phoenix 11/03/2002 nightlies which are presumably based of Mozilla 1.2 nightlies.
Vladimir, the page you refer to is a separate bug which I have reopened. Your screen shot provided no new information about the page layout and could have been replaced by a simple paste of your ua string into the bug.
As BC said, it has disappeared. Now it seems to be found from here: http://www-3.ibm.com/software/webservers/portal/portlet/catalog and click "search portlets" from the left side. It has -- embedded within <!-- --> construct. So, is this a bug in hteir web site?
yes. it is a relatively common error and can be found at several locations on ibm's site. They are aware of it and hopefully will be fixing these issues soon. You can always file a new evangelism bug on the other page but it won't really help since it will be just another representative page out of ?
