TB crashes immediately when I disable Accept Cookies from sites or set different to Always and then open a composer window.

FX has something similar: Bug 1623044

Flags: needinfo?(mkmelin+mozilla)

I misinterpreted my first look at the crash-stats (I was filtered on THunderbird) - there are Firefox crashes, but the Firefox crashes predate Thunderbird by at least a day of nightlies - their uptick is on 3/25, ours is on 3/26 (and a small scattered list of several crashes prior to 3/25 which explains Bug 1623044)

Severity: normal → critical
Keywords: crash
OS: Unspecified → All
Priority: -- → P1
Summary: Crash in [@ `anonymous namespace'::NotifyBlockingDecision ] → startup Crash in [@ `anonymous namespace'::NotifyBlockingDecision ]

Looking at the stacks I would say it's the same issue

FWIW for some reason we are WAY more affected on a per user basis - on Windows we have about the same number of installs affected for a two day period compared to Firefox in a 3 day period, but they surely have at least 5x-10x more users on nightly than we do => our crash rate is higher.

Depends on: 1623044
Crash Signature: [@ (anonymous namespace)::NotifyBlockingDecision] [@ anonymous namespace'::NotifyBlockingDecision ]
Crash Signature: [@ (anonymous namespace)::NotifyBlockingDecision] [@ anonymous namespace'::NotifyBlockingDecision ] → [@ (anonymous namespace)::NotifyBlockingDecision] [@ `anonymous namespace'::NotifyBlockingDecision ]

In aggregate I'd say 2% of nightly Thunderbird users are affected

FWIW, thunderbird works fine for me -- until I attempt to reply to or forward a message.

Bug 1625251 - [regression][nightly] Crash in developer tools console - landed a (partial?) workaround to the crash for Firefox. Is that enough for us?

Version: unspecified → 76

Also noteworthy, In our 3/25 daily Thunderbird build we picked up Bug 1575214 - Gloda is getting in the way of typing messages, slow because of jank from synchronous GC.

It still eludes me why Firefox crash uptick is on 3/25, our crashes don't start until 3/26 nightly build

With Bug 1625251 fixed we won't see this crash anymore.

Flags: needinfo?(mkmelin+mozilla)

Yes, works for me again.

I guess we can close this, and re-test after bug 1623044 is resolved.

This got fixed two months ago and would have been in our 76 betas. I found no reports of 76 beta crashes.
