flashing / painting problem when I make the thread pane bigger. to reproduce, 1) load a folder with a lot of messages. 2) scroll to the bottom of the folder 3) select the last message in the folder. 4) grab the message page / thread pane splitter 5) drag down you'll see the thread pane "flash".
the patch in #163404 makes this much easier to reproduce.
Attached patch patch (obsolete) — Splinter Review
This patch makes it look a bit better. although the flashing is still visible.

we still flash, but less now that jan's patch is in. we now only "flash" once per row height.
Presumably now (Seth, please use the word "bug" before bug numbers so that bugzilla will linkify them) bug 163404 is fixed you'll also flash when dragging the splitter back up again (so as to keep the last message in view). You could of course rewrite the splitter code only to reflow when the mouse is released :-)
hewitt / kerz, here is that paint problem I was telling you about. can we do anything about this?
