I cannot stop it, and I have to uncheck Quicklaunch option to use Mozilla again. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install mozilla and set quicklaunch on Actual Results: Quicklaunch is getting mad, launching itself without end ! Expected Results: Just launching once.
Dupe of bug 163718?
No. 1) I have only one profile 2) quicklaunch doesn't stop launching mozilla, killing it after every launch. Not a duplicate, related surely :-) Well, why marking it as unco ?
Hmm... Not sure exactly of the semantics here, but I am experiencing something very similar. I installed the 20020820 build (on Win XP) with QuickLaunch set to on. Everything was ok, I rebooted the machine. Upon reboot, the QuickLaunch icon continually appeared and then disappeared. Upon looking at the System Tray, Mozilla was taking up lots of CPU time (~90%). I could not exit QuickLaunch nor launch Mozilla. Nor could I kill the Mozilla process since I kept on losing focus on the Mozilla process in the Task Manager. My fix was to reinstall Mozilla (luckily the install killed the process somehow) and not select QuickLaunch.
It is the same behaviour as in comment #3. So, I am not the only one having this problem. Marking bug as new, so :-) (Hope I don't make a mistake :-)

The same just happened to me. I was running a trunk release from yesterday. I downloaded a new trunk build (2002082008), deleted the out one, and installed the new one (like I do just about every day). As soon as I rebooted quicklanch starts going nuts on me. Couldn't kill it because the PID keeps changing (as stated above). Finally went into regedit and removed the -turbo process and rebooted. Once I went into Mozilla all was fine. I turned turbo mode back on and rebooted again, and all hell broke loose again. This definitely seems to be something related to quicklaunch and boot. OS: Windows 2k SP3, all patches applied
Thanks guys. These Quick Launch bugs constantly change.. I have duplicated it under windows me, same build (Gecko/20020820). I have found the task manager to be able to shut it down, after which the desktop icon can be used to correctly relaunch Mozilla. It uses significant resources, and actually "steals focus" from other applications (in other words, during quick launch's madness, I can't work in my other apps specif. IE). When I successfully relaunch mozilla, my data is not lost. I have a hunch it may be related to: http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi? id=146340 (quicklaunch keeps relaunching after last window is closed.)
