User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:78.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/78.0

Steps to reproduce:

Open developer tools, switch to network tab.
Make a request, look at headers in "Response Headers" pane.
Double-clicking on header value and copy.

Actual results:

Header value & header name are selected, not just the value. Additionally, elided text is not expanded.

See attached screenshot showing "user agent" header.

Expected results:

Previously, selecting a header value would do a couple things:

  • Elided values would appear (no ellipses)
  • Copying the selected text would only copy the header value.

Bugbug thinks this bug should belong to this component, but please revert this change in case of error.

Component: Untriaged → Netmonitor
Product: Firefox → DevTools

Testing in 78.0a1 (2020-05-19) (64-bit), the header values are not elided which allows to copy the full text. Can you reproduce in the latest Nightly?

Previously, selecting a header value would do a couple things:

  • Elided values would appear (no ellipses)

This should be fixed as mentioned in harald's comment 2 above

  • Copying the selected text would only copy the header value.

We have a patch open for bug 1523614 that should fix the issue.

Thanks
