I can also confirm that the global menu does not work in the latest Firefox, v89.
My specs are as follows:
- Browser Version:
89.0+build2-0ubuntu0.20.04.2
- Operating System: Ubuntu MATE 20.04.2 LTS
Linux roxy-mate 5.8.0-53-generic #60~20.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Thu May 6 09:52:46 UTC 2021 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
- Host:
MacBookPro14,1 1.0
- CPU:
Intel i5-7360U (4) @ 3.600GHz

I would like to imagine this being a bug and not a feature. Having the global menu bar really helps since it enables features like the HUD on Ubuntu MATE, and it would also help make Firefox better integrated into systems with the global menu bar.
