(Appears similar to bug 1363838 from 2017 which is listed as unconfirmed; I believe Thunderbird development was less active at the time.)
After a certain period of inactivity, a captive portal providing Wifi authorisation logs out my computer. When I return, Thunderbird presents hundreds of modal dialog boxes (which block the main application window) one after the other warning me that "You are about to override how Thunderbird identifies this site." I assume this is because the captive portal intercepts Thunderbird's connection attempts to the mail servers. Each site/server will occur in many many copies, presumably once for each connection attempt.
It takes me several minutes to click on "Cancel" or press the "Escape" key for each message. The alternative of force-killing Thunderbird and restarting it risks losing unsaved messages etc.
May I suggest to either consolidate these error messages (so as to only display the most recent one for each server), or (perhaps preferably) move them into a non-modal list a bit like the "Downloads" tab, where one might then bulk delete (or indeed inspect) the errors.
Many thanks for your consideration and for keeping Thunderbird awesome!
