(Whiteboard: [probe-expiry-alert])
The following Firefox probes will expire in the next major Firefox nightly release: version 80 [1].
firstStartup.statusCode
firstStartup.elapsed
corroborate.omnijar_corrupted
corroborate.omnijar_mismatch
What to do about this:
- If one, some, or all of the metrics are no longer needed, please remove them from their definitions files (Histograms.json, Scalars.yaml, Events.yaml).
- If one, some, or all of the metrics are still required, please submit a Data Collection Review [2] and patch to extend their expiry. There is a shorter form for data collection renewal [3].
If you have any problems, please ask for help on the #fx-metrics Slack channel or the #telemetry Matrix room at https://chat.mozilla.org/#/room/#telemetry:mozilla.org. We'll give you a hand.

Gijs, I see you reviewed https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1644448 which bumped the expiration for the firstStartup.statusCode. Should we bump this again or delete these?

I don't know if these needs renewing. I pinged rhelmer on slack last week and he needed to check with experimenter folks. Will ping him again.

Talked to Rob - these probes can expire and be removed.

I'm really dumb. I reviewed a patch to extend the probes in bug 1644448 in June, and forgot. This bug got filed 2 days after bug 1644448, and bug 1644448 got fixed before the nightly revision got bumped. So comment #0 is a lie. We can remove these probes when we get the next warning for Firefox 90, in some 6 months' time.
