Latest nightly build 08-20-2002 of Chimera not accepting default browser settings in "System Preferences". Defaults to I.E. 5.2.1 all the time.
Glen, technically speaking, you're reporting a problem with the system's Internet Preferences, and not with Chimera. This bug database is for Chimera and Mozilla bugs only. We cannot provide technical support. I suggest you ask about this problem at the "Chimera Board" at [http://chimera.eternaltedium.com/] for help. Resolving Invalid.

Greg: Maybe you should read the "Chimera Board" yourself, there is pretty extensive conversation of this bug there. This seems like a problem with recent builds of Chimera, not Internet Preferences. (evidenced by the fact that this only happens with recent builds of Chimera, not with other browsers (IE, Mozilla, Omniweb), or with older builds (according to people on the Chimera Board)) I can verify this bug with build 2002090105. I suggest this bug be reopened.

i would also agree that this bug be reopened. the original author of this report did not fully articulate the problem. here is my original report that came up as a dupe of this bug: If more than one browser is installed (i have chimera and omniweb installed. no internet explorer) then no matter how many times you select chimera in the "internet preferences" it goes back to whatever else is there. Same with 3 browsers, it will pick the first broswer (besides chimera) that it finds in alphabetical order. I select chimera, quit system prefs, immediately restart system prefs, and omniweb is selected as default again. this problem exhibits itself not only with omniweb, but with IE, mozilla, and netscape.
Sounds like sfraser has identified an actual problem that may be causing this.
