164711 - Doesn't function Sidebar/Bookmarks/Search/Delete

tested on 2002-08-23-10-1.0
Win XP.Pro.JA + SP1 beta1 and mac OSX JA

1. Add Bookmarks into Sidebar, then open
2. Click Search button
3. In order to have matched bookmark in Search result window, type appropriate
bookmark
4. Once display Search result sindoe, highlight one
5. Select Edit/delete
   You will see delete doesn't function

Any kinds of delete such as in right mouse click/pop-up menu, Bookmark toolbar
don't function.

To expand on Kasumi's point, when deleting a bookmark by selecting delete from
the right click menu in the tree view, you are not able to re-open that bookmark
folder without restarting browser.

Recreate:
1.  Bookmarks-
2.  Choose any bookmark within a folder and right click.
3.  Delete bookmark.
4.  Click off of the tree and then back onto bookmark.
5.  Browse to folder with newly deleted bookmark and it shows an open folder
icon, but will not open the tree for viewing/selection.

What exactly is the problem?
Going to http://www.öko.de, dragging the URL to the Bookmarks Toolbar and then
deleting it with the context menu works fine here. 
Not for you?
The same for the bookmarks sidebar and bookmarks manager (deleting with the
'del' key also works there).

And deleting from bookmarks search results as mentioned in the bug's description
is not enabled anyway, no matter if the URL is an IDN.

So does ANYbody see ANYthing that could be related to this bug report?
In this case please *clearly* describe all steps necessary to reproduce the bug,
otherwise it can be resolved in a few weeks.

I agree, that it does not work regardless of whether URL is IDN or not.

I thought the point of this bug was precisely that deleting URLs from sidebar
after search does not work. Are you saying its not a bug, but rather a feature?

It seemed like it was a problem, and it hasn't been commented on in about half a
year, and (to me, anyway) it seemed like an annoying problem, so I asked whether
it will be fixed or not. 

I think we are in agreement, no?

I'm sorry, of course you are right. After reading my own comment #5, I thought
this bug was about IDN bookmarks, I didn't read the summary/description of this
bug carefully.
I apologize and of course this bug will stay open.

When it comes to whether this will be fixed or not: "sure, some day..."
But *when* it will be fixed depends on when a volunteer comes around and is
willing and able to invest some time and fix this, as always in Open Source. If
other people are as annoyed as you by this bug, chances are good it will be
fixed "soon". 
But if others don't consider this as much of an issue as you do, you'll have to
wait months or years or do it yourself...
