Steps to reproduce:

SeaMonkey 2.53.2 / Lightning 5.8.2

Start SeaMonkey, then open the Mail & News component
At the top of the "Today Pane", the correct date is shown, but with the wrong day of the week. For example:

• Yesterday (Wed 24 June 2020), it was showing the day as "Mon"
• Today (Thu 25 June 2020), it is showing the day as "Tue"
• Another user on the SeaMonkey users' mailing list reported that on Tue 23 June 2020 is was showing the day as "Mon" for them.

Clicking the "Go to Today" button changes the display to the correct day of week. Clicking "One Day Forward" and then "One Day Backward" to return to the current day changes the display to the correct day of week.

The same still happens with a new profile.

Lightning 5.8 is not supported by Thunderbird. SeaMonkey only version and same works in TB 68.

Fixed in tomorrows 2.53.5b1. Sorry it took so long. Was just a missing backport. Will make it into final 2.53.4 too.

For this to work you need to reinstall Lightning. See release notes for latest version or just open the xpi from distribution/extensions.

Got a confirmation that it is fixed in the unofficial builds. Because just a missing backport closing it. Fix will be in 2.53.4 as stated.
