User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/83.0.4103.116 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

Attempted to add ProtonMail account to Thunderbird 78.9b3 (32bit) on the latest Windows 10 Home 1909.

  • Went through the Thunderbird "Add Mail Account" dialogs as per usual, providing the server settings as credentials as supplied by ProtonBridge).
  • Upon attempting to connect, Thunderbird shows an error message:

Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password.

  • I have set this up fine with the latest, stable version of Thunderbird. It only seems to affect the beta version.

Actual results:

Got error message "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password."
Please see screen shot.

Expected results:

I would have expected the account to be added and fully operational as it is in the stable version of Thunderbird.

Component: Untriaged → Account Manager

I would normally expect to get a confirmation dialog about a self signed certificate upon clicking done, but I do not get that. For what this is worth.
