Build: nightly 2002082705, OS X 10.2 In recent nightlies, opening the Fonts tab under the Appearance preferences pane sometimes causes all of the font preference fields to revert to Lucida Grande. The sample text in each field is replaced by the words "Sample Text" in Lucida Grande. It seems to take a couple of tries to make this happen. Setting the fonts again will cause them to take effect (at least to the extent that they ever did, given bug #159227), but you have to remember not to reopen that tab or you'll lose the settings.
WorksForMe using Chimera/2002082705 on 10.1.5. I toggled between the "Colors & Links" and "Fonts" tabs 10 times, and also closed and reopened Preferences/Appearance/Fonts window 10 times, without this problem manifesting itself.
Yeah, that panel needs work.

This could well be Jaguar-specific. I hadn't seen it on 10.1.5 either, but I was also using earlier versions then.
For what it's worth: The system is a dual 1GHz G4 (Quicksilver 2002), Radeon 7500. I can get it to happen reproducibly by closing the preferences window with the font tab open.
Could be Jaguar specific... This bug manifests itself for me on the 8/17, 8/20, and 8/29 nightlies on my PBG4 500, Jaguar 6C115.
using 2002.09.04.05 on both 10.1.5 and 10.2, this is certainly a problem on jaguar, but not 10.1.5. i'll see if this is a regression...

hm, don't think this is a regression, since it still seems a problem with 0.4.

I've seen this on 10.1.5 and 10.2. Font prefs are pretty broken; don't waste time testing this.
