After updating to v78, message field is empty in tab but shows in new window

Steps to reproduce:
I am running Kaspersky Total Security. It found an update for Thunderbird. After installing this update, my version got bumped up from v68 to v78
Actual results:
After the upgrade, when I try to read a message, it opens a new tab but nothing is displayed. However, when I change the setting to open the message in a new window, it displays properly.
Expected results:
Message should display in new tab.

Yes it is, thanks for the feedback.
And the solution provided there fixed the issue.
I renamed the xulstore.jason file to .old in my windows profile (C:\Users\userid\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\9rkesgkw.default).
After restarting Thunderbird a new file got created and now the messages are displayed again when opening in a tab.
