User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:78.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/78.0
Steps to reproduce:
I connect to any chat account, e.g. IRC and connect to some channel and join a chat. No messages are shown.
I am running the lately updated Thunderbird 79.0b2 (64-bit) on up-to-date Ubuntu Studio 20.04.1 LTS
Actual results:
No messages are displayed in any of the message windows.
The chat seems to be working, as accounts or rooms with new messages are indicated to have unread messages.
Even in Preferences in the Chat -> Styling section, the styling samples for the chat are not shown.
Expected results:
Messages to be visible.
It seems that this is a known issue (https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/79.0beta/releasenotes/). I expected that known issues already had bug reports, but I was not able to find one and join the discussion. So I filed this new bug report.
