User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:79.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/79.0
Steps to reproduce:
Empty error console
Exit TB
Start TB
Open error console
Click on Address Book
Click on 'Tools' on Menu Bar
Error appeared in error console - see image
Selected Tools > Import > Address Book > Text file > Select .csv file (also tested with test text file) > Check the import data list and click on OK
Actual results:
Error message - all addresses may not have been imported - see image
Click on Finish
Check the imported data - there are no errors.
Tested with simple comma separated test file - same error, but no error in the data imported.
Expected results:
Error message seems to occur when there is no apparent error.
Error message does not why all addresses may not have been imported.
Using Windows 10 and Thunderbird 78.1.1
Error console creates this error when you click on 'Tools' on the 'Menu Bar' of the open 'Address Book'.
This error is created before selecting anything in the 'Tools' drop down menu.
Also tested in version 68.11.0 - same txt and .csv file.
No error in error console.
No error on import.
The only error in 68.11.0 is the display is not immediate, but that is a bug already known for 68.
There is no problem with immedate display in 78.1.1
Did not expect any error message if nothing is wrong.
Do not know what is triggering the error message in 78.1.1

I've seen this before. I don't know what causes it though.

I also encountered the same situation that Anje reported.
I imported the attached test-abook.csv into my Thunderbird address book and the result display is shown below.
# Error message
## @name TEXTIMPORT_ADDRESS_CONVERTERROR
## @loc None
2006=Error importing address book %S, all addresses may not have been imported.
However, I haven't seen the error appear in the error console.

In Thunderbird 78.1.1, I could see the "key_addressbook of menuitem Address Book could not be found" reported by Anje, but it does not appear in 78.5.1.
However, the symptom of the error message in the result display remains the same when importing a CSV file into the address book.
I think the error console message is a different problem.

In that range, must be something from bug 1587016.

I'm not sure about the error console message, but the error reported after a successful CSV import has been fixed in bug 1685048.
I think this bug can be closed.
