Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:80.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/80.0
Steps to reproduce:
I'm using Firefox Sync. Enabled "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" option und Preferences -> Privacy and Security. Added exceptions to this rule through the button "Manage Exceptions".
Actual results:
"Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" gets synchronized. Added Exceptions are not.
Expected results:
If "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" is enabled, Exceptions should be synchronized as well.

Hi there, thanks for reporting this! This sounds like bug 978010, but I won’t mark it as a dupe just yet because of what you suggested:
If "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" is enabled, Exceptions should be synchronized as well.
This is definitely surprising—on the device with exceptions, cookies will continue to be saved for just those sites; on others, they won’t at all, and it’s not at all obvious to folks that this is because we’re syncing one setting but not the other.
Unfortunately, we don’t have a timeframe for syncing cookie exceptions or site permissions (because the exception lists are stored in a totally separate database, which we don’t sync at all), so maybe the best thing to do is not sync the “ Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed” setting by default.
I recently started using the “Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed” setting but I had problems with my other devices. So I checked that the exceptions list isn't being synced.
This bug report is 4 years old. Is there any hope for this being implemented?
