Hi, this time add another test steps.
I add (**) before sequence number, that strange behavier don't match.
PS. pls also conside bug 166474.
repeat steps:
1. Create a new profile.
2. Launch Mozilla. (it will create a default profile)
3. Launch "Mail & Newsgroup".
4. It leads you to create a new account. Enter your information.
6. Change "10 minutes" to "1 minutes" in the "Check for new messages every ...
minutes" line,
and press "OK".
7. Wait for 1 or more minutes. Nothing happens.
**8. After 10 minutes, it checks for new mail. And after this time, it checks
new mail every 1 minute.
NOTE: This implies the the "1 minute" option only take effect after that 10
min, NOT when you press "OK".
Then what will happen to users if 1000 min is set originally?
Or, if user closes "Mail and Newsgroup" in 10min each time,
he thinks he will but actually he'll never get any mail!
9. Now uncheck the "Check for new messages every 1 minutes" and press "OK".
**10. After 1 min and every 1 min after that, it still check for new mails.
The uncheck doesn't take effect!
11. Guess it's a design defect. Auto-check should be recognized when "OK" is
pressed.
12. Uncheck the box left to "Check the new mail at startup". Close "Mail &
Newsgroup" and launch again.
**13. It still checks for new mail every 1 minute.
14. Close "Mail & Newsgroup" "Navigator" and all other Mozilla related stuff.
15. Launch again. This time it stops checking.
16. Now, re-check the box left to "Check for new messages every 1 minutes" and
press "OK".
**17. This time either close only "Mail & Newsgroup" or close all stuff won't
work. It never checks.
18. Press "Get Msgs". After this operation, it eventually checks for new mail
every 1 minute.
**19. But after close Mozilla and re-launch, it doesn't work again.
Unless you check the "Check new mail at startup" or manually press "Get
Msgs", it never checks.
Jonathan, this option requires a restart.
