User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:80.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/80.0

Steps to reproduce:

Upgrade TB from 78.2.0 to 78.2.2 via offered upgrade option

Actual results:

Screen is only partially painted, requiring mouse-overs to paint the main body, and tabs title text is lost. This makes TB unusable here, so I have back-rev'd to v78.2.0.

Please post a screen shot.

I have already un-installed and deleted v78.2.2 as being unfriendly, thus no screen so be shown. Win 10 here.
In words though. When the program starts only part of the left column (sources) is shown and the main section is mostly empty, and the tabs are all without their text. Mousing over areas brings back contents, but they go away again with more navigation. This spells much overusage of javascript, in my view.

Thanks for the info. When the next update occurs, please do post a screen shot.

Perhaps solved by Help > restart with add-ons disabled > enable "Reset toolbars and controls" > "make changes and restart".

This has nothing to do with a presumption about javascript

And try disabling hardware acceleration (in the Thunderbird options).

I let matters sit at TB v7.2.0 yesterday with my normal additions persisting . This morning I checked matters. TB functions normally, and surprizingly the version number now reads 7.2.2 (auto updates is enabled). Hardware acceleration remains in the On state. This odd situation suggests obscure carryovers from v7.2.0 need more than one installation try to bring into alignment. This is a puzzle, but no longer a problem at my place. Also, thanks for the rapid feedback suggestions.

Thanks for the info
