BoxModelRenderer was added as a standalone module that only renders the Box Model Highlighter. It was part of a previous attempt (Bug 1572651) at making highlighters work across processes via message manager. It was kept around for another attempt that involved rendering highlighters in the parent process (Bug 1598307). That effort was ultimately superseded by a client-side implementation to toggle highlighter instances (Bug 1646028). This final approach uses the all-in-one BoxModelHighlighter class, thus making the standalone renderer part, BoxModelRenderer obsolete.
