Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open an html5 video
  2. Click PiP icon

Actual results:

A blank frame appeared with PiP controls but does not play anything. Video continues to play in the same tab as before

Expected results:

Video should have disappeared from the tab and moved to PiP player

OS: Unspecified → Linux
Hardware: Unspecified → x86_64

Bugbug thinks this bug should belong to this component, but please revert this change in case of error.

I should also add that this seems to be a problem only when fission is enabled. Non-fission windows behave fine

Do you have fission.sessionHistoryInParent set to true? If so, this is probably a dupe of 1667867, which just had a fix land.

Yes. I checked after disabling it and it works fine
