Details

(Keywords: regression)

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:81.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/81.0

Steps to reproduce:

Using Thunderbird 78.3.1 (64-Bit), occuring since Version 78.x, i can't integrate my CalDAV Server from a Synology NAS in the calender anymore.
At this time: https in local network.
Already tried:

  • Create new certificate (synology.com) and manually insert it.
  • Firewalls deactivated

Actual results:

3x safety exception rule window (original german message):
Diese Website versucht sich mit ungültigen Informationen zu identifizieren.
Falsche Website
Das Zertifikat gehört zu einer anderen Website, was heißen könnte, dass jemand versucht, sich als diese Website auszugeben.

With the actual Thunderbird version an additional window pops up (original german message):
Ein Fehler ist aufgetreten
Fehlercode: MODIFICATION_FAILED

The synology.com certificate is listed in the certificate management under server.
But no connection, same procedure if i sync the caldender.

Expected results:

After I download the certificate and commit the safety exception rule (permanently) one time, thunderbird should save it and ask for the user account password from the NAS.

Sounds like bug 1666871.

Keywords: regression

Probably, i get pretty the same outputs in the error console with the mentioned logging options.
The 3x safety exception rule may come from the number of new entrys in the calender.
So same problem with certifcates from the Synology system.

Let's dupe.
