(Keywords: regression, Whiteboard: [necko-triaged])

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:84.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/84.0

Steps to reproduce:

Navigated to link utilizing proxy redirect for Ebsco Host academic journals which requires authentication with university

Actual results:

The page failed to load giving a cookies are disabled error.

Expected results:

Ebsco Host should have displayed the page requested through the university proxy. I was able to bypass this error from Ebsco Host by disabling "Cookies: Schemeful SameSite"

I cannot reproduce using my proxy account set to require authentification.

Can you clear out some details?

  1. Have you tested on Nightly v84 and Windows 10 only?
  2. Which page do you need to attempt to load? Any web page?
  3. How exactly do you have your proxy set-up?

I have set the component to (Core) Networking. I am assuming this is correct; please set a more appropriate one if you believe to be incorrect.

Thank you!

Could you try to capture the http log?
Is there any error message in devtool?

Yes, only Nightly 84 and Windows 10. The site I am attempting to access is ebscohost.com through something called ezproxy which is goes through your university credentials. I do it through the University of Victoria or University of Alberta.

It seems like it is treating it as a cross site which breaks the proxy settings via Dev Tools: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NtZOga0EOiHKNdeUSgbZEY7xxB7fIOdF/view?usp=sharing

Here is the networking log: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uGXxWKtFJGVgnQvoP8FeieGEkNGWnUCS/view?usp=sharing

Flags: needinfo?(suirtemedb)
Has Regression Range: --- → yes

Can confirm this is still an issue with ezproxy. Please let me know how I can help with collecting any information if needed.

The bug has a release status flag that shows some version of Firefox is affected, thus it will be considered confirmed.
