User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.14; rv:84.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/84.0
Steps to reproduce:
Start Thunderbird, switch to calender. Wait >1 day.
A) Click on Today ( the ⭕︎ ).
B) Switch to another month and click on a day, then click on Today ( the ⭕︎ ).
TB 84.0.b1 on macOS 10.14.6
Actual results:
A) The 'today' marker stays where it was (i.e., yesterday or before).
B) The 'today' marker moves to the correct (to)day.
Note: the mini calendars in calendar sidebar and in today pane behave differently!
Expected results:
Expectation: clicking today ( the ⭕︎ ) moves the today marker to today's date, no matter what happened before.

New observation:
Typing command-T moves 'today' only in the main calendar, not in sidebar mini calendar or today pane mini calendar.
And a correction:
Note: the mini calendars in calendar sidebar and in today pane behave differently!
I cannot reproduce this difference, might be an error of mine.

This could have the same underlying cause as bug 1665374. There seems to be an issue with auto-updating the calendar views and other time-related elements as time passes.
