Additional tabs from 1 to 7 (Thunderbird privacy notice) open when opening Thunderbird. How do I stop that?

Have you tried closing the unwanted tabs before restarting Thunderbird?
Wayne, would deleting session.json from the profile help?

session.json is the only place open tabs information is kept, afaik
Have tried closing them but they return. Where do I find session.json? and how do I get rid of it?

Described at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-thunderbird-stores-user-data
A good place to ask questions is https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/new/thunderbird/form
Found session.json - deleted it - comes back and 'thunderbird privacy notice' returns - sometimes up to 5 times in a session. I need further expert advice.

Of course it comes back, because every startup will create it. Perhaps change the file to readonly? Ask in the support site?
Regardless, any workaround you devise wont' be officially supported.
