Location of the mozilla window is not remembered correctly when the taskbar is not in its default location (lower part of screen). I have my taskbar to the right of the screen and somehow if i make the mozilla window fullheight (but not fullwidth/fullscreen) if i close all windows and reopen mozilla the window gets shifted down a couple of pixels (near enough normal taskbar height) making the mozilla window's statusbar disappear of the screen forcing me to reposition. To me it looks like some calculation is done on the top left coordinate of the mozilla window (the code probably assumes that the taskbar is top instead of bottom) thus shifting the window down.
reporter (Marten): can you reproduce this bug with a recent build of mozilla (for example, 1.2beta)? if so, please comment again with details including your build ID. if not, please resolve this bug as WORKSFORME. thanks.
I've checked with my current mozilla version (1.2b) and still have the problem However I narrowed it down to "Quick Launch" being active, so when I disable ql the window position is remembered correctly, but if I enable ql the problem still occurs. So closing all mozilla windows and then starting a new browser while ql is active will show the new window lower then the last closed window (about titlebar height difference). So it seems its related to "quick launch" Hope this clarifies the issue
