RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 511079

People

(Reporter: u677327, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:78.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/78.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Compose a message.
  2. Send the message.

Actual results:

The Message Compose Window stays in front of the Mail Window Front End while it sends the message synchronously.

Expected results:

The Message Compose Window should immediately disappear, the message should be sent asynchronously in the background, and the message sending status should be displayed in the Message Compose Window bottom status bar.

Confirmation that the message was successfully sent can be verified by the status bar or checking the sent folder.

This behavior is similar to other major mail applications like Outlook and Gmail.

Yes, this is very much overdue. I've had it enabled for years.
