+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1427317 +++

Bug 1427317 discussed the fact that the default engines could not be removed and at best could only be hidden. It would appear that there is something wrong with the logic that because it is not simply that is should not be done, so I am filing this bug in the hopes that we can return some control of this stuff to the user.
