User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/88.0.4324.96 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
I tried to add a networked calendar in the last version of Thunderbird and this one, both with and without the helper app of "Provider for CalDAV & CardDAV". I tried to do it on Windows 10 and Ubuntu 18.04 then 20.04, and I tried it with the server's base URL and with the proper /remote.php/dav
ending.
Actual results:
The calendar never connects. I think it is because the interface for adding a calendar never asks me for a password to grant the user access to it.
Expected results:
It should have asked for a password and then synchronized to Thunderbird.

Because of another issue that I posted, I discovered that the "TbSync" & "Provider for CalDAV & CardDAV" extensions are causal to the 'no password ask' problem. When I added a Nextcloud calendar and those were disabled, I got asked for a password as a pop-up after adding the calendar, but it didn't make it right. No synch happened.

My understanding is that Thunderbird asks for password, after the server returns 401 UNAUTHORIZED
.

Michael, does this work for you in Thunderbird 91 (possibly a duplicate of bug 1720862)?

Honestly, this is so far out of my mind I can't remember the problem specifics and have moved on without it.
I'm mainly using TB 78.13.0 (64-bit) on Ubuntu 20.04 with the ZFS on.
