This seems to be a regression which I started to see on CVS-TRUNK in approximately the last week. The problem is that if I follow a link on a page before that page has finished loading then the page never gets entered into the 'Back' button's history (ie. the page doesn't enter the 'back' drop-down list so going 'back' from the new page will effectively go back two or more pages instead, and, if you tickle this bug from the first pageview in a session, the 'back' button remains inactive).
adding OS:all since I have the same problem with WinXP
OS: Linux → All
Since Radha is out for pretty much the rest of the year, reassigning to component on the offchance that someone else has been nominated default component assignee in the meantime....
Bother! I was just entering this bug (build ID 2002121008) for Win98. Try this URL, which displays a page and then loads an animation sequence, giving you lots of time to go to another page before the animation finishes loading and so invoke this bug: http://www.met-office.gov.uk/weather/europe/uk/radar/#top
