We shouldnt allow the creation of an emtpy Smtp Server(with hostname being null), through the add smtp server dialog.
Akk, that is pretty bad! 1. Open Outgoing Server settings 2. Click Advanced - Advanced Outgoing Server Settings dialog opens 3. Click Add - SMTP Server dialog opens 4. Don't enter any data at all and click OK Results: an empty entry is created! On the Advanced Outgoing Server Settings dialog, you can highlight the last row, which is blank. Expected: What is required data here? A Server Name and a Port? If the user clicks OK and BOTH of these fields have not had data entered into them, show a dialog: Title: <ProductName> Message: A server name and port must be entered. Button: OK
"Please enter a valid server name" seems to be more appropriate with the rest of account manager/wizard alerts. Is that ok with you?
>"Please enter a valid server name"
Yes, better :-) Does a valid port need to be entered as well? Or only a server?
Port is not necessary and hence only a check for server name is sufficient.
Marking fixed. Checked in along with http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=164678.
