Steps to reproduce:

MacOS Catalina, TB 78.8.1
After Updating from TB 68 to TB 78 Thunderbird freezes immediatly after startup. Also after a fresh install of TB 78 it freezes by double-clicking on Thunderbird.app in the application-folder. It only works as expected by starting over the terminal (doubleclick on thunderbird-bin, using profil-manager etc.)
In any case it was not possible to open .eml-files.

Actual results:

Thunderbird freezes directly after startup.

Expected results:

It should work, like TB 68 does.

Does bug 1662759 comment 28 help?
It is the most common Mac issue for v78.

Hey, thanks, yes, now it works as far as I can see for now. Except probably synchonisation of my icloud contacts, but mainly TB works fine now.
