When a download is in a troubled state (not commonly downloaded, might harm the computer, security risk), we historically have badged the system file icon. We want to move that badging to a full-size icon to the left of the subview navigation icon, vertical-center aligned to the download item.

We similarly want to put the same icon on the right side of the subview for the download itself. See Figma, Downloads Panel, for details.
