When I search for an email in Thunderbird and want to perform a specific action using the context menu, the context menu is not available.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open message search with CTRL+SHIFT+F.
  2. Go to the search field with TAB, enter search term and confirm with Enter. Wait until the search is finished.
  3. Go to the message list with TAB and select any message with the arrow keys.
  4. Press the context menu key to select an action.

Result

Nothing happens.

Expected

A context menu should open with various actions, similar to the message list in the Inbox or other folders. For example:

  • Open in new tab
  • Open in new window
  • Reply only to sender
  • Reply to all
  • Reply to list
  • Forward
  • Forward as ...
  • Edit as new
    ... and so on

workaround

The context menu is available when a message is opened.

The shortcut keys for Replying, forwarding, etc. are also not available.
