Steps to reproduce:

  1. Move the "Tags" column as the first column (before Name), now we have "Tags Name Location" order.
  2. Resize "Tags" column.

Actual results:

Trying to resize "Tags" resizes the second column (separator of column 2 and 3), don't matter what column is in the second slot, and don't matter where "Tags" is located.
This always happens after we change the column position.
This behavior also occurs with other columns, not just "Tags".

Tested on Firefox from official repositories of Arch Linux, Linux Mint 20.1 and Ubuntu Focal, also tested in Nightly from ubuntu-mozilla-daily PPA.

Notice that each column have a resizer control in extreme left and extreme right, also "Name" column don't have the left resizer so can't resize itself "on left".
About the "Tags" column:

  • left resizer => is resizing the separator between the column 1 and 2 (in the default order, the separator of "Name" and "Tags");
  • right resizer => is resizing the separator between column 2 and 3.

Expected results:

Resizing "Tags" should resize the equivalent column, where "Tags" is located.

Reproduced on Windows and Ubuntu on the latest versions of Firefox Nightly 89.0a1 (2021-03-24), beta 88.0b2 and release 87.0.
Setting up flags and a component for this issue in order to get the dev team involved.

Hey Emilio,
I just checked on the latest Firefox Nightly 89.0a1 (2021-04-13) (20210413093459) on windows 10 and can confirm that this issue was fixed. The columns can now be resized without issues and work normally.
