Details

Affected versions

  • Firefox 89.0a1 (BuildId:20210407212527)
  • Firefox 88.0b8 (BuildId:20210406185740)

Affected platforms

  • macOS 10.15.7
  • macOS 10.14

Unaffected platforms

  • Windows 10 64bit.
  • Ubuntu 20.04

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Firefox.
  2. Access the following link
  3. Open the pages side context menu.
  4. Left click on an empty/blank space from the side menu in order to bring the focus to the side context menu.
  5. Double-tap with 2 fingers inside the side menu.

Expected result

  • The double-tap to zoom functionality works as expected and zoom level can be successfully applied on the side menu (as in Safari or Chrome).

Actual result

  • The double-tap to zoom functionality is not working on the side menu.

Regression Range

  • I don’t think that this is a regression.

Notes

  • The pinch to zoom functionality seems to work as expected for the side menu.
  • Access the following link (Mozilla account needed) for screencast.
  • The double-tap to zoom functionality is disabled by default in beta 88 so I'm marking the 88 flag as disabled.

The apzc has mAllowDoubleTapZoom as false because that is what it initializes it to and there has not been a call to UpdateZoomConstraints. The apzc is created when you click on the sidebar. It gets several NotifyLayersUpdated calls but no UpdateZoomConstraints.

Summary: The double-tap to zoom functionality is not working on the Spiegel.de’s side context menu when focused → The double-tap to zoom functionality is not working on the Spiegel.de’s side menu when focused

Ah, it's fixed content, that probably is key.
