Steps to reproduce:
This issue was observed on Windows 7 64-bit SP1. The message Pane is enabled under layout. I click on the delivered version of an email, that was sent from me to a mailing list that I am subscribed to. The message contains the following headers (after being delivered to the list):
To: [MAILING_LIST_NAME]@domain.tld
Sender: owner-[MAILING_LIST_NAME]@domain.tld
From: My Name via [MAILING_LIST_NAME] <[MAILING_LIST_NAME]@domain.tld>
Reply-To: My Name <myemail@mydomain.tld>
Errors-To: owner-[MAILING_LIST_NAME]@domain.tld
I wouldn't be surprised if this can't be reproduced easily since it's a very specific set of circumstances.
Actual results:
The Message Pane correctly shows the headers related to this email when it's selected. When selecting a different email, the sender header remains unchanged. In other words the sender header continues to be "owner-[MAILING_LIST_NAME]@domain.tld" no matter what email is currently selected.
- If you open the email in a separate window the correct headers are shown in the window, but does not have an effect on the message pane.
- Viewing the message source displays the correct headers in the source, but does not affect the display of the message pane.
- Disabling and enabling the message pane does not resolve incorrect display.
- Selecting an email in a different folder does not resolve the issue.
- Selecting an email in a different account does not resolve the issue.
- Selecting an email from any mailing list with similar headers, from someone who is not yourself does not resolve the issue.
- Selecting an email from any mailing list, from yourself causes the message pane to update it's display to reflect the change in sender address. However the same issue continues with this new sender address.
- Restarting Thunderbird resolves the issue until the same actions are taken to reproduce the issue.
- Running Thunderbird in safe mode does not prevent the described behavior.
Expected results:
The sender header should be cleared or updated when emails are selected.
