User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:78.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/78.0
Steps to reproduce:
View the main window.
Actual results:
I see a huge message metadata panel with lots of wasted space.
Expected results:
The wasted space should be removed by moving To onto the same line as From, removing the third line, and decreasing the line spacing.

Sorry I don't think we want to do that.

Bob, https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/getting-started-thunderbird-main-window describes the window components.
Please post a screen shot, because I doubt "moving To onto the same line as From" is the only solution.

I understand that removing lines from the header pane is too much but decreasing the line spacing should be considered because the current spacing doesn't match the spacing of the rest of the UI and makes it look unpolished. I've attached a screenshot showing the original and a 50% reduction in line spacing.
I've added an updated screenshot with a 3rd example that includes the removal of the To line which shouldn't be visible unless the To doesn't match the account address.

Look at the add-on https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/compact-headers. Maybe this is what you search.
