One of the complaints I hear most frequently about Mozilla is that its toolbar has such large icons. People want the customizability of the MSIE icons (small or large, with or without text labels, and bug 15322 for toolbar movement). What I think needs to be added are small icons. The back/forward/reload/stop/print buttons should be just about the same size as the home and bookmarks icons, optionally.

with or without text labels is now possible.
Skewer, are the current icons small enough for you? (I.e. for what you wanted with this bug report) The icons (select "pictures only") are *about* as small as IE's, smaller ones might be too hard to click and are incorporated by various third party themes. If you stay "not reading mail" (as your e-mail adress currently tells) this bug should probably be resolved in a few weeks, as (IMHO): WONTFIX if you want even smaller icons - because an additional icon set just to get 3 or 4 pixel more would not be worth the effort, WFM/FIXED/DUPLICATE of bug 22056 if the current toolbars are small enough for your needs.)
The icon set used for kiosk mode would work great as a fix to this bug. They are about the same size as the IE icons in the screenshot. In fact, a toolbar similar to the toolbar in kiosk mode is very much what I had in mind for this bug (except that the menubar would be present like normal, and it should still be possible to include the print icon). By using that icon set it would not be necessary to create any additional skinned material (or maybe a trivial amount) to fix this bug. Removing the "DUPEME" comment because this has not been duplicated to another bug in the four months that's been there.

Skewer, do I see anything wrong or is the current state exactly what you want? (At least in classic) If you select "Show Toolbars as pictures only" under "Edit - Preferences - Appearance" then the classic toolbar is just like in kiosk mode and only slightly larger than in IE. In Modern, though, the icons are much larger. So this is a modern-only bug?
i think what the reporter wants is a new option in the preferences; edit -> preferences -> appearance -> show toolbars as o pictures and text o pictures only o text only reporter is referring to what IE has: text options: | show text labels | selective text on right | no text labels | icon options: | small icons | large icons | hope you can read my syntax; mozilla currently has a single radio list, while IE has two pulldowns, the first has three options and the second has two. however, IE does not have skins. thanks to mozilla's themes, i do not see a need for each skin to contain small icons vs large icons. this is despite that i loathe larger icons; i simply choose a small-icon theme. my current theme is pinball, http://themes.mozdev.org/themes/pinball.html my suggestion is that this not be implemented. (so resolve as wontfix or worksforme)
