People

(Reporter: tamco15, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:88.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/88.0

Steps to reproduce:

Click on bookmark in a folder on toolbar, (years old common ones).

Actual results:

Now i can create another identical right next to it rather than "edit this bookmark".

Expected results:

It should of not created another one it should of brought up "Edit this bookmark". Also the "Bookmark this page" is gone. it has been this since i can remember why change to "Bookmark tab" this is more of a Mobile app lingo.

I looked a little deeper some links are http:// but they resolve to a https:// address since i have mozilla set to https only now i have double
bookmarks for most everything or re-bookmarking things that are already bookmarked.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Firefox::Bookmarks & History' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Bookmarks & History

I think this is basically the same as bug 1518529 - bookmarks for http and https are treated differently.
