my suggestion is to do auto check for email when OPENENING the browser itself
without the need to open the email program! and to show if there is email or not..
and not only if there is email! so people can know surely that there is no email
and not to do the check themselves again!
thank you.

This can't be done for obvious security reasons as it
requires you to login to the imap/pop server. Sometimes
i on;t want to browse, and sometimes i only want to
read email, and other times i want to do both.
The browser would have to have artificial intellegence
if it were to decide to log you into the mail server
at times when you wanted it to and not at others.
