Dragging a URL from the URL pulldown to the toolbar works, but trying to drag
the URL into a folder no longer works.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Drag URL icon from the URL bar
2. Drag to a folder icon on the toolbar
3. Try to open folder
Actual Results:
New item will only drop onto main toolbar level, subfolder won't open.
Expected Results:
Subfolder should open, allowing navigation into subfolder to drop URL.
Pete, you said, "no longer works." Did this used to work? When did it stop?

hmm. I have tried reloading several versions all the way back to 1.1, and I
can't get ANY of them to do this right. So it might be a profile issue.
I have 3 systems I run mozilla on - win98, a mac G4, and a mac pismo powerbook,
both on 9.1. I have seen this bug come and go on all three. At the moment, the
win98 version doesn't have this bug, but both mac's do. I used to use the
Pinball theme, it hasn't been updated to 1.2, so I am using Modern. My bookmark
file is pretty big, 400K or so. (need to clean it out...)
I will try to create a new profile and see if it works there.

Nope. A new, default profile still shows this issue. I also completely deleted
all previous installed mozilla folders before reinstalling, both the application
and profiles.
Both Modern and Classic themes have the problem.
Drag and drop to the sidebar bookmarks show the same issue - sub folders won't open.
Also noticed that I can't drag URLs around within the toolbar folders either.
I use a xlr8 2-button mouse with scroll wheel.
Confirmed using Mac/2002091908/9.2.2. Dragged links dropped on a Personal Toolbar folder
are not added to that folder. Revising summary.
I thought this might have been a dup, but can't find it.

I think this is a dupe of bug 145484.

Links will now go into folders on toolbar (except for the first one on the left
- a clue?), except you still can't pause on the folder, wait for it to spring
open, and navigate into the folder to place the URL in a specific location or
subfolder. The URL goes to the bottom of the list of that top level folder.
build 2002122008. mac 9.1
So, is there a recommended procedure for making this go away?
start a new profile, put all my folders in the new toolbar folder?
Re: comment 5, no, that's different.
This bug's summary talks about not being able to drag links to Personal Toolbar
folders. That now WorksForMe using FizzillaMach/2003032808.
However, it's still not possible to drag the URL Bar proxy icon to a Personal
Toolbar folder. Bug 199998 reports that specific issue.
To avoid confusion, marking this bug WFM and leaving bug 199998 to cover
