Details

From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC; en-US; rv:1.0rc2) Gecko/20020510 BuildID: 2002051005 In Netscape release 6.0, I could drag icons to the personal toolbar in either scheme. In 6.2, I could only do so with the Modern scheme. In Mozilla, which I began using today, I cannot do so in either scheme. Not a huge thing, but I really like being able to drag URLs like google into the personal toolbar without having to go through the whole config process for same. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open URL. 2. "Grab" URL icon. 3. Attempt to pull icon into Personal Toolbar. 4. Nothing happens. Actual Results: Not much. See above. Expected Results: Put the URL with the title of the page into my personal toolbar. Both themes. Used to only happen in Classic (with the Netscape builds), now is both. My computer is running Kaleidoscope, but I have tried with and without Kaleidoscope: same results. No other special GUI or widget-related software running. Same results on two different computers, same OS (9.x).
This happens also to me with Mozilla 1.1 alpha. This bug maybe a duplicate of Bug 141877.
Nothing to do with UI design. --> Bookmarks.

Katie, are you using the same user profile in both Mozilla and Netscape?
Hm. I doubt it...in fact, I'm not sure I have *any* user profile set up in Mozilla (I HATE them). I should note, however, something I forgot or didn't notice last time: I can't get anything at ALL to show up on my toolbar, even though there are items in the preconfig'd 'toolbar favorites' folder.
I cannot drag any link on my personal toolbar. It only shows the "home" tool button and nothing else. When I right-click on the toolbar and click "new folder" nothing else. When I drag things to it and drop them nothing happens. It's frustrating
Katie, there is always at least one user profile, and that is the default profile, simply named "default." If you used to use Netscape 6, and you switched to Mozilla, and you found your settings still worked exactly as you had them in Netscape 6, then you're using your Netscape 6 profile in Mozilla. It causes problems, which are known, and will be addressed, but there it is. Is that what happened?
Katie, can you reproduce this on a recent build?
I'm running 2002111115 on OS/2, and I can't drag links to the personal toolbar either.
