Screenshots offers a few options for deciding which part of the current document you want a screenshot of. You can select:
- "Visible" - just the viewport, no scrolling
- "Full Page" - capture the full, scrolled page
- Custom region - use the drag handles to draw the box size and position to capture on the current page
- Element - use the highlighter to select element bounds to capture
As we migrate to a browser component, it would be useful to know which of these methods are used and how often. If possible we should record the method at the time of saving/copying the image so we know which method was ultimately selected.

Instructions: Data Stewards will review a request for data collection and endorse responses to each question. If the request does not provide answers to questions, reviewers give an r- and point to the questions that can’t be answered.
- Is there or will there be documentation that describes the schema for the ultimate data set in a public, complete, and accurate way
Yes, this will be included with other telemetry probe definitions in desktop firefox.
- Is there a control mechanism that allows the user to turn the data collection on and off? (Note, for data collection not needed for security purposes, Mozilla provides such a control mechanism) Provide details as to the control mechanism available.
Yes, disabling telemetry will disable collection.
- If the request is for permanent data collection, is there someone who will monitor the data over time?
Yes, the Screenshots module owners and peers, screenshots-dev@mozilla.org.
- Using the category system of data types on the Mozilla wiki, what collection type of data do the requested measurements fall under?
The measurements are category 2, interaction data.
- Is the data collection request for default-on or default-off?
Default-on.
- Does the instrumentation include the addition of any new identifiers (whether anonymous or otherwise; e.g., username, random IDs, etc. See the appendix for more details)?
No.
- Is the data collection covered by the existing Firefox privacy notice?
Yes, the data collection is covered by the existing privacy notice.
- Does the data collection use a third-party collection tool? If yes, escalate to legal.
