User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:91.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/91.0

Steps to reproduce:

I'm not sure what's the condition that causes it to start to work very slowly and freeze until I quit Firefox and restart it again.

I've set gfx.webrender.all to true.

I've also seen this report https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1717239 maybe my problem is related but I'm not sure because for me it started to show up on Firefox 91 and not before and it doesn't hang/lock, it's just extremely slow.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Graphics: WebRender' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

Component: Untriaged → Graphics: WebRender
Product: Firefox → Core

Here it would also be interesting if the same happens with widget.wayland.vsync.enabled disabled. FTR., gfx.webrender.all should not be needed any more.

Yes, so I've disabled gfx.webrender.all and have widget.wayland.vsync.enabled enabled. Trying this settings out and will report back if I see the issue.

Yes, so I've disabled gfx.webrender.all and have widget.wayland.vsync.enabled enabled. Trying this settings out and will report back if I see the issue.

gfx.webrender.all (force-enabling webrender) does not matter anymore because it's enabled by default (bug 1701977).
Please disable widget.wayland.vsync.enabled and restart Firefox.

Forgot to comment here but disabling widget.wayland.vsync.enabled fixes the issue.

Component: Graphics: WebRender → Graphics

Maybe a profile using https://profiler.firefox.com/ when the freezes happen would be useful?

This is not a problem for me anymore.

Thank you for letting us know! Closing as resolved.
